Our teeth are made up of enamel, which is one of the hardest biological materials. However, the type of enamel that makes up our teeth can be fragile if it’s been compromised by decay or large fillings. Having a dental crown fitted could provide the necessary strength for weak or damaged natural teeth. Dental crowns are regularly recommended after receiving root canal treatment to provide protection to the remaining weakened tooth structure and existing filling.

Dental crowns are made from numerous materials depending on your individual treatment needs. Tooth-coloured materials such as porcelain provide a natural-looking finish, whilst gold alloys provide supreme strength for durability in high-force areas.

Your teeth will be carefully prepared before impressions are taken and sent to a dental laboratory to make your dental crowns. Once it is ready, the crown will cover your tooth’s surface, protecting the underlying structure from further breakage and fracture.

Our experienced dental team will take you through all treatment options and clinical recommendations as part of your bespoke consultation with us.

Caring for Your Dental Crowns

Taking care of your teeth on a daily basis – brushing, using interdental brushes, and flossing between your teeth – and visiting your dentist regularly is all it takes to ensure your restoration lasts as long as possible. Your dental team will kindly assist and advise you in any adaptations you’ll need to make to your usual oral hygiene routine.

Comments from H.I

I am completely satisfied with the treatment I receive. My dental maintenance is very challenging for you due to my ongoing medical situation. I appreciate the time you take to work out the best option, explain everything to me and then skilfully carry out the agreed procedure.

Comments from B.E

My family is relatively new to the practice, under the care of Deborah and Luciana, for which we would like to take this opportunity, to complement them on their professionalism, their care and the way they interact with us, which is always friendly and informative.
